Regular Season Round 18: Olympiacos - Aris 69-55

An interesting game for Olympiacos (17-1) which hosted in Athens 4th ranked Aris (10-8). First ranked Olympiacos managed to get a 14-point victory 69-55. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Aris was better in third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international guard Evangelos Mantzaris (196-90) scored 11 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Vladimir Jankovic (202-90, agency: Octagon Europe) with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-1 record, which they share with Panathinaikos. Aris at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Kolossos HH and PAOK. Olympiacos will play against Apollon Patras (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Aris will play against Koroivos (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
