No shocking result in a game when second ranked Byblos (10-2) beat at home 9th ranked Mayrouba (3-9) 96-81. Byblos forced 21 Mayrouba turnovers and outrebounded them 49-35 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Ndudi Ebi (206-84) who had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. The former international Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Emmanuel Jones (200-85, college: UTRGV) who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Calvin Cage (183-84, college: Buffalo) added 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Byblos have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record behind leader Homenetmen. Mayrouba lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with nine games lost. Byblos' next round opponent will be Al Riyadi (#3) in Beirut, which may be the game of the day. Mayrouba will play at home against Hoops Club (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
