Very expected game in Tehran where 9th ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (4-13) was crushed by third ranked Azad (11-6) 101-57. The game without a history. Azad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shahrdari Gorgan's 36. Azad forced 21 Shahrdari Gorgan turnovers and outrebounded them 40-23 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international center Mohammad Yousofvand (207-96) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 6 rebounds. International forward Ali-Armen Allahverdi (197-95) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Azad players scored in double figures. Mehdi Boroun replied with 16 points and the former international power forward Sasoon Abramian (208-87) added 14 points in the effort for Shahrdari Gorgan. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Azad maintains third position with 11-6 record having four points less than leader Petrochimi. Shahrdari Gorgan at the other side keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost.
