Regular Season Round 21: Macae - Mogi 69-90

Date: February 16, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Macae (3-17) was outplayed at home by ninth ranked Mogi (12-8) 90-69 on Thursday. Mogi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 assists for the winners and American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) with 20 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and guard Guilherme Schneider (193-86) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place. Macae lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. They share it with Caxias do Sul. Mogi will meet SKY/Basquete (#10) in the next round. Macae will play against Paulistano (#11) in Sao Paolo and hope to secure a win.
