Regular Season Round 39: Gunma - Hiroshima D. 75-86

There was a small surprise when first ranked Dragonflies (31-7) defeated on the road leader Gunma (25-13) 86-75 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Dragonflies. Gunma was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Gunma was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Seiji Ikaruga (185-94) who led his team to a victory with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and center Daisuke Umetsu (196-90) added 16 points in the effort for Gunma. Gunma's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dragonflies have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 31-7 record which they share with defeated Gunma. Loser Gunma still keeps top position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
