Very predictable result in Helsinki where third ranked ToPo (14-8) smashed 9th ranked Jarvenpaa (7-15) 82-59 on Friday. The game without a history. ToPo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Jarvenpaa's 24. American swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) fired 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Juuso Kauppinen (188-94) chipped in 13 points. Four ToPo players scored in double figures. ToPo's coach Pekka Konttinen felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (191-81) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Newly promoted ToPo maintains third place in Division with 14-8 record having four points less than leader TuNMKY. Loser Jarvenpaa keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. ToPo will meet Porvoon Tarmo (#6) on the road in the next round. Jarvenpaa will play against Jyvaskyla BA and hope to secure a win.
