Regular Season Round 28: Nassjo - Malbas 103-79
Date: February 17, 2017
Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Nassjo (12-13) smashed at home bottom-ranked Malbas (2-22) 103-79. The game was mostly controlled by Nassjo. Malbas was better in second period 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot 61.2 percent from the field. Nassjo forced 19 Malbas turnovers and outrebounded them 27-16 including 19 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American center Dartaye Ruffin (205-91, college: Drexel, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and forward Kristian Ternell (199-92) supported him with 20 points. Even 25 points by American Josh Ritchart (206-92, college: Cal-Davis) did not help to save the game for Malbas. Guard Jordan Peltier (193-95) added 18 points and 7 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nassjo maintains seventh position with 12-13 record. Malbas at the other side stay dead last with 22 lost games. Nassjo will play against higher ranked KFUM Jamtland (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Malbas will play against Uppsala Basket (#4) and hope to get back on the winning track.
