There was a minor upset in Junin where one of their biggest challengers GECR Indalo (16-18) was defeated by sixth ranked Argentino (15-18) 78-67 on Friday. Argentino outrebounded GECR Indalo 33-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Argentino especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American guard Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider, agency: DTMones) fired 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Italian swingman Juan Cangelosi (197-81) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Carlos Schattmann (193-87) produced 17 points and American power forward Matthew Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Argentino maintains sixth position with 15-18 record. Loser GECR Indalo dropped to the fifth place with 18 games lost. Argentino will face again higher ranked GECR Indalo (#5) in Comodoro R. in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. GECR Indalo will play at home against Olimpico de La Banda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
