Regular Season Round 28: BC Lulea - Umea 105-47

Basketligan top team - BC Lulea (20-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Umea (4-21) 105-47. The game without a history. BC Lulea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Umea to just 4 points in second quarter. BC Lulea dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Umea's 32. BC Lulea forced 26 Umea turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. BC Lulea players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Umea's players. The winners were led by forward Denzel Andersson (203-96) who scored that evening 14 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) supported him with 15 points and 5 assists. Four BC Lulea players scored in double figures. BC Lulea's coach Peter Oqvist felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by center Andre Nilsson (209-90) did not help to save the game for Umea. Forward Jesper Hallberg (201-95) added 8 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. BC Lulea maintains first position with 20-5 record. Umea lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 21 games lost. BC Lulea will play against Sodertalje Kings (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Umea will play against Boras Basket (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
