Regular Season Round 24: Lourdes - SAP Vaucluse 93-72

There was no surprise when 15th ranked SAP Vaucluse (10-14) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (13-11) 93-72. It looked good early as SAP Vaucluse took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lourdes-Tarbes had a 29-18 second period charge getting the lead and SAP Vaucluse was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-93. Lourdes-Tarbes made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 SAP Vaucluse turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for the former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) replied with 22 points and Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (206-84, college: Northeastern, agency: Inception Sports) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for SAP Vaucluse. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lourdes-Tarbes have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 13-11 record. SAP Vaucluse at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes' next round opponent will be Vendee Challans (#11) on the road. SAP Vaucluse will play against Saint Vallier and hope to win that game.
