Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Orvieto (13-5) beat on the road 7th ranked Scrivia (11-8) 64-50 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Orvieto made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Lithuanian power forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Guard Greta Brunelli (176-90) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Center Clara Salvini (180-92) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds and Finnish forward Krista Gross (183-90, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Orvieto moved-up to fourth place in A2. Loser Scrivia keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Orvieto will face higher ranked Team Crema (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Scrivia will play against Albino (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
