Regular Season Round 38: Tochigi Brex - San-en 93-69

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tochigi. First ranked Tochigi Brex faced second-ranked Sanen Neophoenix. Host Tochigi Brex (28-7) smashed guests from Hamamatsu (22-15) 93-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sanen Neophoenix. The game was mostly controlled by Tochigi Brex. Sanen Neophoenix was better in fourth quarter 32-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sanen Neophoenix 39-20 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Four Sanen Neophoenix players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 28-7 record, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Loser Sanen Neophoenix keeps the second place with 15 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face again league's second-placed Sanen Neophoenix in Hamamatsu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
