There was a minor upset when 14th ranked Torrelodones (3-15) was crushed on the road by sixteenth ranked Rivas (3-17) 100-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rivas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 22 Torrelodones turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rivas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Torrelodones' players. The best player for the winners was guard Miguel Zamora (189-93) who scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Power forward Angel Gomez (197-87) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Rivas players scored in double figures. Center Mamadou Diagne (208-98) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ruben Portes (192-81) added 11 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rivas moved-up to fifteenth place in Group B. Torrelodones lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Rivas will face higher ranked Estudiantes B (#13) in Madrid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
