Regular Season Round 18: Aulnoye - Roannais 71-46

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Roannais (5-13) was smashed on the road by tenth ranked Aulnoye (7-11) 71-46 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Aulnoye. Roannais was better in second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Roannais to just 3 points in fourth quarter. Aulnoye dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Roannais' 22. Aulnoye forced 28 Roannais turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Roannais' players. It was a good game for point guard Clementine Morateur (176-95) who led her team to a victory with 13 points and 4 steals. Naturalized DR Congolese forward Lorraine Lokoka (184-89) contributed with 11 points and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Amandine Toi (179-98) replied with 12 points and Laetitia Guapo (180-95) added 7 points and 5 steals in the effort for Roannais. Roannais' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Aulnoye maintains tenth position with 7-11 record. Newly promoted Roannais keeps the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Aulnoye will face higher ranked COB Calais (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Roannais will play against Arras (#5) and hope to win that game.
