Rather predictable result when third ranked Kumamoto V. (29-8) won against 6th ranked Shinshu BW (10-28) in Nagano 77-67 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 28-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kumamoto V. outrebounded Shinshu BW 48-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and Yasuhiko Yasuhiko (181-90) added 13 points in the effort for Shinshu BW. Kumamoto V. maintains third place with 29-8 record having just two point less than leader Gunma. Shinshu BW lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 28 games lost. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round. Shinshu BW will play again at home against Kumamoto V. (#3) and hope to win that game.
