Regular Season Round 39: Gunma - Hiroshima D. 86-82

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Dragonflies (31-7) on the court of first ranked Gunma on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Gunma 86-82. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Dragonflies. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Dragonflies 45-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Hiromu Kitagawa (182-91) answered with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Ataru Sakata (192-91) added 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Dragonflies. Four Gunma and five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Gunma maintains first place with 25-13 record which they share with defeated Dragonflies. Dragonflies at the other side still keep top position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
