Regular Season Round 39: Cyberdyne IR - Toyotsu FE 93-95

Fifth-ranked Cyberdyne IR (14-23) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Toyotsu FE (27-10) in Tsukuba on Saturday. The visitors from Nagoya managed to secure only two-point victory 95-93. However their fans expected much easier game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) accounted for 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) respectively for Cyberdyne IR in the defeat. Five Toyotsu FE and four Cyberdyne IR players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Toyotsu FE maintains first place with 27-10 record. Loser Cyberdyne IR dropped to the fourth position with 23 games lost. They share it with Bambitious Nara. Toyotsu FE will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cyberdyne IR will play again against the league's leader Toyotsu FE (#1) and hope to secure a win.
