Regular Season Round 24: Kalisz - Rawia 74-113

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Kalisz (4-17) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Rawia (14-7) 113-74 on Saturday. Rawia shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 59.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was swingman Szymon Maciolek (190-91) who scored 29 points and 4 assists. Michal Wielechowski (198-94) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lukasz Wojciechowski (184-88) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 assists and Tomasz Bartkowski added 13 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Five Rawia and four Kalisz players scored in double figures. Kalisz's coach Wlodzimierz Kusnierczak gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Rawia have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 14-7 record. Kalisz lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost. Rawia will face Miedzychod (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Kalisz will play against Stal II Ostrow and hope to win that game.
