Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Alpo VF (10-8) won against on the road 12th ranked Palermo (2-15) 57-51 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 57-51. Strangely Palermo outrebounded Alpo VF 33-21. Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) fired 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Roberta Di-Gregorio (172-90) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. Alpo VF's coach Nicola Soave allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Croatian forward Ivana Blazevic (184-93) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Giorgia Ermito (185-88) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Alpo VF maintains seventh place in A2 with 10-8 record. Loser Palermo keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Alpo VF will face higher ranked Udine Delser (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Palermo will play against Castellammare (#9) in Stabia and hope to win that game.
