The game in Minsk was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Polotsk (7-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Gorizont II (5-16). Polotsk did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 66-49. It looked good early as Gorizont II took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Polotsk had a 23-11 second period charge getting the lead and Gorizont II was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 49-66. Polotsk forced 27 Gorizont II turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Anna Hatskevich (180-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Karyna Karneyeva (181-95) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Sabira Agaeva (170-0) replied with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her seven free throws) and forward Darya Semiletnikova (-1) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gorizont II. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polotsk have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Polotsk maintains sixth position with 7-2 record. Gorizont II lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 16 games lost. Polotsk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gorizont II will play again at home against Polotsk (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
