Very predictable result in Valencia where second ranked Leganes (15-4) defeated 11th ranked Picken Claret (6-13) 73-56 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Leganes forced 21 Picken Claret turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Christina Marinacci (185-91, college: USC) who led her team to a victory scoring 9 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Marta Perez (177-94) helped adding 14 points. At the losing side forward Marta Rabassa (178-94) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Esther Saez (178-97) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Picken Claret's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Leganes keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Alcobendas. Picken Claret lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 13 games lost. Leganes will face Antiguo Boscos (#8) in Zaragoza in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Picken Claret will play on the road against Olimpico 64 in Madrid and hope to win that game.
