Regular Season Round 3: Pune P. - Chennai S. 83-71

First defeat of league's leader Chennai S. (1-1) against Pune P. (2-0) 83-71 was the most important game of the last round. The game was mostly controlled by Pune P.. Chennai S. managed to win third quarter 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Pierre Newton (196-93, college: Minn.-Duluth) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Amritpal Singh (212-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Pune P.'s coach R Kumar used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Agu Chukwunanu answered with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and international center Rikin Pethani (203-90) added 21 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Chennai S.Four Pune P. and five Chennai S. players scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
