There was no surprise in Salvador where 14th ranked Caxias do Sul (3-17) was defeated by fourth ranked Universo/Vitoria (13-6) 76-67 on Saturday. Universo/Vitoria forced 19 Caxias do Sul turnovers. American guard Keyron Sheard (188-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up and scored 21 points for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was point guard Frederico Lima (183-80) with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Marcao Vinicius (205-84) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds.
