Regular Season Round 20: Royal Eagles - Amazone 63-53

Date: February 18, 2017
Bottom-ranked Amazone is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 20th consecutive match to sixth ranked Royal Eagles (6-12) 63-53 on Saturday evening. Royal Eagles forced 28 Amazone turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Royal Eagles made 10 blocks. The winners were led by international Esther Fokke (185-96) who scored that evening 21 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Anne van-Vlijmen (162-99) supported her with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by Renee Hoveling (186-94) did not help to save the game for Amazone. Danielle Pruijs (184-97) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Newly promoted Royal Eagles maintains sixth position with 6-12 record. Loser Amazone still closes the standings. Royal Eagles will meet league's second-placed Grasshoppers in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Amazone will play against Loon Lions (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
