Regular Season Round 13: Mayrouba - Hoops 72-86

9th ranked Mayrouba (3-10) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Hoops Club (3-11) with the biggest margin this round 86-72 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Hoops Club. Mayrouba was better in fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Hoops Club had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International point guard Ali Mezher (182-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Omar Thomas (196-82, college: UTEP) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Four Hoops Club players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Robert Upshaw (213-94, college: Washington) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Calvin Cage (183-84, college: Buffalo) scored 24 points and 4 assists. Despite that victory Hoops Club went down to tenth position due to points difference. Mayrouba lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Hoops Club will face league's second-placed Byblos at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
