Regular Season Round 38: SeaHorses - Hokkaido L. 70-78

Top ranked Aishin Sea Horses (27-9) recorded its ninth loss in Kariya on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Hokkaido L. (12-26) 78-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aishin Sea Horses. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aishin Sea Horses won third quarter 24-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian center Jordan Bachynski (218-89, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Hokkaido L.'s coach Kota Mizuno used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and the former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) added 25 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hokkaido L. maintains fourth position with 12-26 record. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side still keep top place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
