Regular Season Round 28: GOCOR-Sozh - Tsmoki II 55-83

Very expected game in Gomel where 9th ranked GOCOR-Sozh (3-21) was crushed by third ranked Tsmoki II (17-7) 83-55. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki II. GOCOR-Sozh was better in second period 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsmoki II dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to GOCOR-Sozh's 28. They outrebounded GOCOR-Sozh 47-16 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by guard Anton Zaretski (188-98) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Timofey Porolev (202-97) supported him with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (186-93) did not help to save the game for GOCOR-Sozh. Guard Egor Dudov (190-98) added 9 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tsmoki II have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-7 record having nine points less than leader Grodno-93. GOCOR-Sozh lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Tsmoki II will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GOCOR-Sozh will play on the road against BSEU-GrandPrint (#6) in Minsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
