Regular Season Round 39: Iwate Big Bulls - Nishinomiya S. 64-78

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Nishinomiya S. (25-12) beat on the road 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (9-28) 78-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Nishinomiya S.. Iwate Big Bulls was better in third quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Iwate Big Bulls to just 7 points in second quarter. It was a good game for Australian center Jordan Vandenberg (216-90, college: N.Carolina St.) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Koji Nagata (180-81) added 13 points in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Nishinomiya S. maintains second place with 25-12 record having just two points less than leader Gunma. Iwate Big Bulls lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 28 games lost. Nishinomiya S. will have a break next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play again at home against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. (#2) and hope to win that game.
