The game in Kotka was also quite interesting. Second ranked Salon Vilpas (20-7) played at the court of 8th ranked KTP-Basket (10-18). Salon Vilpas managed to secure a 9-point victory 92-83 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 22-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Salon Vilpas made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Juwan Staten (185-92, college: W.Virginia) who scored 24 points and 7 assists. The other American import guard Desmond Williams (199-91, college: S.Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman, agency: Court Side) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and Jamaican-American power forward Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) added 19 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Salon Vilpas maintains second position with 20-7 record having just one point less than leader Helsinki Seagulls. KTP-Basket at the other side keeps the eighth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Pyrinto. Salon Vilpas will meet BC Nokia (#6) on the road in the next round. KTP-Basket will play against the league's leader Helsinki Seagulls and hope to secure a win.
