Regular Season Round 19: CCC Polkowice - Sleza Wroclaw 56-59

Sixth-ranked CCC Polkowice (11-8) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Sleza Wroclaw (16-3) on Saturday. The visitors from Wroclaw managed to secure only three-point victory 59-56. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CCC Polkowice. Sleza Wroclaw made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Sharnee Zoll-Norman (170-86, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Her fellow American import power forward Nikki Greene (193-90, college: Penn St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks and American point guard Jamierra Faulkner (168-92, college: S.Mississippi) added 11 points and 10 assists in the effort for CCC Polkowice. CCC Polkowice's coach Maros Kovacik tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sleza Wroclaw have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-3 record. CCC Polkowice at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with AZS UMCS. Sleza Wroclaw are looking forward to face Widzew (#11) in Lodz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CCC Polkowice will play on the road against Basket Gdynia (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
