Very predictable result when fourth ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (12-6) won against at home 9th ranked Nice (7-11) 78-70 on Saturday. Nice trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 21-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-78 at the end of the game. Villeneuve D'Ascq dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Nice's 32. They outrebounded Nice 41-24 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) notched 27 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and international forward Valerianne Ayayi (184-94) supported her with 20 points and 8 rebounds.
