An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Salamanca. First ranked Perfumerias Avenida faced 3rd placed Gernika. Host Perfumerias Avenida (18-1) defeated guests from Gernika (13-6) 71-56. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gernika. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-56. Perfumerias Avenida dominated on the defensive end, holding Gernika to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gernika's 28. They outrebounded Gernika 37-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Perfumerias Avenida looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Brazilian center Erika De-Souza (197-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international point guard Silvia Dominguez (166-87) chipped in 5 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St.) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and Croatian forward Antonija Sandric (181-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-1 record. Gernika at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Perfumerias Avenida are looking forward to face Universitario de Ferrol (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gernika will play against Campus Promete in Logrono and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
