Regular Season Round 18: Reims - CFBB 72-52

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Reims (11-7) crushed at home bottom-ranked CFBB (3-15) 72-52 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Reims. CFBB was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding CFBB to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Reims forced 21 CFBB turnovers. CFBB was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Montenegrin center Natasa Popovic (192-82) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Sarah Ousfar (183-93) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Kadiatou Sissoko (180-99) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Tima Pouye (176-99) added 14 points in the effort for CFBB. Reims moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Arras. CFBB lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Reims will face higher ranked Bretagne Basket (#3) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CFBB will play at home against Montbrison (#9) and hope to win that game.
