Regular Season Round 16: Asker - Ulriken 64-81

An exciting game was played in Rykkinn. Second ranked Ulriken faced one of their biggest challengers Asker. Guests from Bergen (11-4) defeated host Asker (9-6) 81-64. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-64. Ulriken shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Emilie Gronas (170-92, college: Duquesne) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international forward Maren Hoff Austgulen (182-91, college: Idaho) who added 10 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Ulriken players scored in double figures. Ulriken's coach DuRell Sandford used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Ingrid Selvik (178-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Julie Wilborn (173-98) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Ulriken have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Ullern. Loser Asker keeps the third place with six games lost. Ulriken's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bergen to the arena Gimle Pride.
