Regular Season Round 19: Sydney - Adelaide 98-83

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Sydney Uni Flames (18-6) beat at home bottom-ranked Adelaide Lightning (3-21) 98-83 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sydney Uni Flames. Adelaide Lightning was better in fourth quarter 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sydney Uni Flames shot 65.0 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Sydney Uni Flames especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Colleen Planeta (188-88, college: Point Loma) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and international center Laura Hodges (191-83) added 19 points in the effort for Adelaide Lightning. Five Sydney Uni Flames and four Adelaide Lightning players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sydney Uni Flames have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-6 record. Adelaide Lightning lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games.
