Regular Season Round 24: Vitre - Gries/Oberhoffen 63-77

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Vitre (11-13) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (11-13) 77-63. It looked good early as Vitre took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gries/Oberhoffen took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 14 points. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Gries/Oberhoffen forced 20 Vitre turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian forward Rolandas Jakstas (202-92) contributed with 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Forward Guillaume Merie (198-83) replied with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Montenegrin guard Nikola Korac (185-86) added 19 points and 6 assists in the effort for Vitre. Gries/Oberhoffen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Vitre. Gries/Oberhoffen's next round opponent will be Angers BC (#16) at home and are hoping to win another game.
