Regular Season Round 19: Energa Torun - Wisla Can-Pack 57-80

An interesting game for Wisla Can-Pack (15-4) which played road game in Torun against 4th placed Energa Torun (13-6). Second ranked Wisla Can-Pack had an easy win 80-57. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Energa Torun. Strangely Energa Torun outrebounded Wisla Can-Pack 39-25 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Energa Torun's players. It was a great evening for Chilean center Ziomara Morrison (194-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Belgian point guard Hind Ben-Abdelkader (172-95, college: California) helped adding 12 points and 4 assists. Four Wisla Can-Pack players scored in double figures. Wisla Can-Pack's coach Jose Ignacio Hernandez felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import swingman Darxia Morris (172-89, college: UCLA) scored 17 points. Defending champion maintains second place with 15-4 record behind leader Sleza Wroclaw. Energa Torun at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Wisla Can-Pack will play against JAS FBG (#9) in Sosnowiec in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Energa Torun will play on the road against AZS UMCS (#7) in Lublin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
