The most exciting game of round 19 in the WNBL took place in Bendigo. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Perth Lynx (15-9) to sixth ranked Bendigo Spirit (13-11) 73-72 on Sunday evening. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Bendigo Spirit looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian power forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (188-91, college: Simon Fraser) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Kelsey Griffin (188-87, college: Nebraska) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Carley Mijovic (196-94, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Perth Lynx. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bendigo Spirit moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Canberra. Perth Lynx at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Dandenong.
