Regular Season Round 19: Hapoel Eilat - Hapoel Holon 81-66

The game between second ranked Hapoel Holon (13-6) and fifth ranked Hapoel Eilat (11-8) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Hapoel Holon was defeated by Hapoel Eilat in Eilat 81-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hapoel Holon. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-66. Hapoel Eilat made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Reginald Buckner (206-91, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) helped adding 17 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Hapoel Eilat's coach Oded Katash used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Darion Atkins (203-92, college: Virginia) responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds and swingman James Bell (197-92, college: Villanova) scored 20 points. Four Hapoel Holon players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hapoel J-M. Hapoel Holon at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Hapoel Eilat is looking forward to face Maccabi Ashdod (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Holon will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
