Regular Season Round 18: Lucca - La Spezia 71-52

Leader Lucca delivered the sixteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 12th ranked La Spezia (2-16) 71-52. The game was mostly controlled by Lucca. La Spezia managed to win second period 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lucca shot 19 for 29 from the free-throw line, while La Spezia only scored two points from the stripe. Lucca forced 23 La Spezia turnovers and had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American-New Zealand guard Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Julie Wojta (183-89, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 16 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Croatian power forward Nina Premasunac (186-92, agency: LBM Management) with 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Erika Striulli (170-90) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Lucca maintains first position with 16-2 record. Newly promoted La Spezia stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Lucca will meet Battipaglia (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Spezia will play against Napoli and hope to secure a win.
