The game in Tromso supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Baerum Basket (19-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Tromso (8-16). Baerum Basket smashed Tromso 102-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Baerum Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tromso's 42. Baerum Basket forced 21 Tromso turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Tromso's players. American forward James Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) stepped up and scored 30 points and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: New Hampshire) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals. Gilchrese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was forward Anders Solem (196-92) with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Aslak Smalas (186-89) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the seventeenth consecutive win for Baerum Basket. They maintain second place with 19-5 record having just three points less than leader Kongsberg. Tromso lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. Baerum Basket will face Centrum (#4) in Oslo in the next round. Tromso will play at home against Asker Aliens (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
