Regular Season Round 20: Mataro - Cornella 76-63

There was an upset when higher ranked Cornella (8-9) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Mataro (5-12) 76-63 on Sunday. Cornella was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-10 charge of Mataro, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was guard Santiago Serrataco (187-90) who scored 18 points. David Romero (-90) chipped in 16 points. Four Mataro players scored in double figures. Point guard Bernat Alvarez (176-95) produced 17 points and center Alexandre Sanmartin (202-84) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mataro moved-up to thirteenth place in Group C-A, which they share with Olivar. Loser Cornella keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Mataro will face higher ranked Barna (#12) in Barcelona in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
