Rather predictable result in Galdakao where seventh ranked GDKO Bizkaia (10-9) smashed 10th ranked Maquinaria Ensino (7-12) 78-57 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by GDKO Bizkaia. Maquinaria Ensino was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GDKO Bizkaia forced 24 Maquinaria Ensino turnovers. It was a great evening for Araia Pena who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Cameroonian forward Achiri Ade (185, college: Texas A&M) helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. GDKO Bizkaia's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Bosnian center Aleksandra Begenisic (193-89, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and guard Tamara Montero (168-94) scored 13 points. GDKO Bizkaia maintains seventh place with 10-9 record, which they share with Antiguo Boscos. Maquinaria Ensino lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face ADBA (#13) in Aviles in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Maquinaria Ensino will play at home against the league's leader Aros Leon (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
