Regular Season Round 19: Karkkila - PuHu Juniorit 69-98

No shocking result in a game when second ranked PuHu Juniorit (17-4) outleveled on the road 10th ranked Karkkila (6-15) 98-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by PuHu Juniorit. Karkkila managed to win third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PuHu Juniorit dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Karkkila's 36. They outrebounded Karkkila 50-27 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. PuHu Juniorit looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Pyry Rainamaa (194-90) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Sakari Laakso (194-97) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. PuHu Juniorit's coach Kristian Palotie felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Artturi Nieminen (189-97) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Hannes Koskinen (198-98) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Four Karkkila players scored in double figures. PuHu Juniorit maintains second place in Division with 17-4 record behind leader TuNMKY. Loser Karkkila keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. PuHu Juniorit will meet at home JyWe (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Karkkila will play against Korikouvot in Kouvola and hope to secure a win.
