Rather expected game when 3rd placed Trelleborg (4-4) was defeated at home by leader Djurgarden (8-0) 94-86 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 49-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Trelleborg was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. British-Nigerian Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Serbian forward Dragan Damjanovic (203-88) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Djurgarden players scored in double figures. Guard Papy Ndiaye (187-94) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Australian guard John Fitzgerald (193-84, college: Lindsey Wilson) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Newly promoted Djurgarden maintains first place in Superettan with 8-0 record. Loser Trelleborg dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Djurgarden will face Koping (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Trelleborg will play against LF Future in Lulea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
