Regular Season Round 38: Guangdong ST - Guangzhou LL 117-96

Very expected game in Dongguan where 19th ranked Guangzhou (8-30) was rolled over by third ranked Guandong Tigers (30-8) 117-96 on Sunday. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Guangzhou's 52 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Carlos Boozer (206-80, college: Duke) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The former international power forward Dong Hanlin (208-91) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Guandong Tigers' coach Feng Du felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iranian forward Mohammad-Samad Nikkhah-Bahrami (199-83) produced 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and international center Ziming Fan (211-98) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Shanghai S. and Guangsha L. Loser Guangzhou dropped to the eighteenth position with 30 games lost.
