Regular Season Round 21: Ortona - Pescara 67-64

A very close game took place in Ortona between Ortona and Pescara. Eleventh ranked Ortona (8-12) got a very close home victory over second-best Pescara (15-6). Ortona managed to escape with a 3-point win 67-64 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Power forward Gianluca Di-Carmine (200-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and swingman Luca Castelluccia (202-86) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Ortona players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Simone Pepe (184-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) with 29 points and 8 rebounds and center Andrea Capitanelli (208-86) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Ortona moved-up to tenth place in B. Loser Pescara dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Cento. Ortona will meet higher ranked Matera (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pescara will play against the league's leader Montegrano where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
