Rather expected game in Ishikawa where 5th ranked Aisin AW (12-14) was defeated by second ranked Kanazawa Sam. (22-2) 77-72 on Sunday. Kanazawa Sam. forced 22 Aisin AW turnovers. The best player for the winners was American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Naoya Adachi (188-83) produced 19 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and center Keisuke Umetsu (196-86) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kanazawa Sam. have an impressive 19-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 22-2 record behind leader Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Aisin AW keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Kanazawa Sam. will face bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
