Regular Season Round 4: Delhi C. - Punjab S. 99-96

Undefeated Punjab S. (1-1) recorded its first loss on the court of third ranked Delhi C. on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Delhi C. 99-96. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 30-21 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Delhi C. forced 20 Punjab S. turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Ronald March (196-93, college: Philander Smith) fired 30 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Janbandhu Vinay chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. March is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Delhi C.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Dermaine Crockrell (185-89, college: Bemidji St.) produced 42 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and the former international power forward Gurvinder Singh Gill (200-96) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Delhi C. and four Punjab S. players scored in double figures. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Delhi C. left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Punjab S. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
