Regular Season Round 19: Promete - C.Adelantados 49-61

No shocking result in a game when third ranked C.Adelantados (15-5) won against on the road 9th ranked Promete (7-12) 61-49 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 61-49. C.Adelantados dominated on the defensive end, holding Promete to just 7 points in second quarter. They also forced 21 Promete turnovers. It was a great evening for power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Tyonna Outland (173-92, college: CSU Bakersfield) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side center Claudia Calvelo (192-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Laura Arroyo (181-91) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Promete's coach tested twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. C.Adelantados have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-5 record having just one point less than leader Aros Leon. Newly promoted Promete keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. C.Adelantados will face league's leader Alcobendas at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Promete will play against Valencia (#12) and hope to win that game.
